My pressure is very high on boiler. Any idea how to get pressure out.

Would be grateful.

Check the prv 1st, if this has operated (which at that it should have) then it’ll drain itself. How has it got that high? You could if needed drain from the drain off under the boiler or from a radiator.

Sorry, it’s not ignorance, it’s me talking in engineer dialect. It’s a pressure relief valve which is preset to 3 bar pressure, it’s attached to the 15mm copper pipe on the right as you look at it, near the return pipe and white plastic pipe. This usually terminates externally, if it’s dripping water, it has activated.

Thanks for explaining . .. a definite novice.
Can't see it dripping.

However if I let more water out of the rad. Will the pressure keep dropping down to a decent level do you think... I will call vaillant in the morning for a service. Just want to make sure it's safe

Thanks again .
K

Also wondering if filling loop key are not turning off properly . (Even though in closed position.)

Yes, if you keep letting water out of the rad to a decent level it should be ok. On that model of Vaillant you want the pressure at approx 1.5 bar - 2.0 bar.

It started creeping back up....
Well that could be at least 1 of 3 possibilities:

1. The loop isn’t closing, as you suspect
2. There’s an expansion issue - if you’re heating is on
3. There’s a pinhole in the secondary heat exchanger

Thanks for your help
You’re welcome. 1 thing I will say, I mentioned if the heating was on and the pressure rising, if this is the case, either the expansion vessel is flat (rubber membrane that’s inflatable) or the pipe to it is blocked. If you’re contacting Vaillant for a service, ask them about this whilst they’re on site. It doesn’t have to be Vaillant, a local independent engineer can service the boiler.
