Now, I don't want to confuse anybody looking at these figures: they are not applicable to installations to the 16th Edition.

These figures are the maximum EFLI for BS 3036 fuses, or cartridge fuses having a fusing factor > 1.5:

5A = 16 Ohm

10A = 8 Ohm

15A = 5.3 Ohm

20A = 4 Ohm

30A = 2.7 Ohm

45A = 1.8 Ohm

60A = 1.35 Ohm

100A = 0.8 Ohm

The current figures have dropped slightly (for fixed equipment, anyhow).

There is no mention of enhanced protection (lower figures) for 0.4s disconn times...However, the 14th says that with socket outlets of rating 15A or less "it is desirable" that the LI should not exceed 4 Ohms.

How times change!
