Hi

Thanks for reading this post and for any help you can provide.

I've just taken my grandmother's hostess trolley out of storage and it has the following problem:
- heats up fine
- trips the main earth leakage circuit breaker on DB when thermostat cuts in

The model is a EKCO Hostess Supreme by Steelcraft.

I have checked:
- the plug
- all internal wiring
- all internal wiring connections
- all earth wires and connections
- the bimetallic strip thermostat
-- cleaned contacts
-- adjusted contacts so only the correct one connects in either on/off position

It's a mystery to me. Any help gratefully received.

Cheers

Don

Probably just dampness got into the elements. If you know someone with old fashioned electrics with no RCD you could run it for half an hour at their house and it will give it chance to dry out.
