I have a bungalow which has two walls that have gaps between the floor boards and skirting .. I have filled one gap -- about 1" deep and approx 16 " long .. I used sealant and then relay new underlay and carpet and the smell and damp has gone. I now have found another in a different part of the house same gap - no reason. Should I do the same there or should I sell up quick?

Thanks

heeelllooo and welcome ceilingwaxandstring :D :D :D

is the floor "spingy" in these areas!!!!

do the floor boards run parralell or end on to the dips!!!

do the dips cover around 30" [or even45"] with the greatest gap in the middle!!!!

Hello Big-all ..

The flooring boards are parellel to the gaps and there is a gap of about 2" in the corner of the wardrobe - built in wardrobes and the floor boards under are not against the wall ... another gap of about 3" and this is the length of about 15" in total .. petering down at one edge ...

Cheers ...

Shall I stick some ceiling wax and string in it to fix it?

i would get some floor boards up and have a look !!!

could be rotton joist or plate but whatever needs looking at as its way to much for normal movement
