My country loving sister has been watching too much 'The Good Life' and is serious thinking to turning over half of her garden to raise animals. (She still points at aircraft flying over head when she visits me.)

Anyway she thinks she will need an electric fence.

Are there any rural sparkies out there who could put me in the right direction. TLC and screwfix etc etc don't seem to have such products. (surprise surprise)

PS As its at her house I imagine it's under Part P? She already has socket outlets but I'm not sure how the fence would connect. (own circuit?)

Any Ideas? Especially cost. She looking at 30m x 40M

Part P shouldn't come into play.

All the ones I have seen on various farms I have worked on run off a car battery, to avoid sometimes very lengthy (and costly) connections back to a mains supply.

Thanks Everyone.

All I have to do is persuade her from going through with her brain dead idea! It will be madness.

You are also right. Rutland is a very nice area of the country indeed.

I'll agree with that I've spent many happy times windsurfing or sailing on or in Rutland Water
