Just taken off the electric shower to remove tiles. I'm fitting it back in temporarily but cant get the water connection sealed properly. there is an elbow then a 50mm ish length of 15mm copper pipe then a standard brass olive and compression nut. I can not seem to get a good seal between the compr nut and the plastic reciever.

I have tried a new olive and ptfe tape but think i am maybe overtightening? I also dont want to damage the plastic thread! how tight should this be and any tips?

Cheers

make sure you have not cross threaded the comp' nut onto the plastic male thread.

you dont have to tug on the wrench just nip it securely.

HI

use copper olives .they are softer than brass olives and have better grip.
then apply ptfe around the olive. :D
