Electric shower dripping from head

Hi all,

I've tried looking this up but worry a lot of results are related to tap showers.

I have an old electric shower and noticed the last few nights a drip about every 15 seconds. The shower head is up in the holder above the height of the unit. I have had to lie it down in the bath so I can sleep.

Is it likely to be the head or hose or something inside the shower unit?

I don't know whether to take off the head or replace it or if that might be pointless if it's likely the unit itself.

Solenoid valve not fully closing would be my first suspect.
It's inside the shower and controls water flowing in. If nowt goes in ,nowt can come out !

Thanks, I did wonder about that as I was thinking water shouldn't be going into the hose and head once shut off from the main unit.
It's a Triton t80i, I'm hoping I can still locate the manual in a cave painting somewhere

Just replace it.

Thanks Andy, may look into that. Can you replace a shower unit with little plumbing knowledge etc as unsure if I'd need it to be done professionally?

If I were to replace the solenoid valve just in the interim it doesn't look too daunting. I can see 2nd hand ones going for more than aftermarket but would have thought the aftermarket would be better with fresh seals and being new?

Nothing difficult with replacing a shower with an exact same model. Choosing a different brand or model makes things a lot more complicated if the water inlet and electric cable positions are in different places.
If you decide to just change the solenoid buy an original one .
