Hi
I turned on my elec shower the other morning and i saw what looked like sparks from inside it (they were refelcting off the ceiling), swicthed it off then on again to make sure i wasnt seeing things. Same thing happended. Switched off again. Then there was a slight burning smell. Ive swicthed the thing off completely and im waiting for a new shower to get fitted this week.
The old shower is a Gainsborough (well over 10 years old id guess). Is there summin wrong within the unit? Im gonna tell the spark to have a look at the wiring too. When the microwave is turned on a someone is in the shower it has been know for the shower to turn off in the past. Does this suggest poor wiring/fuse?

Many thanks
Mike

Is that really a serious question, when you know that a burning smell is coming from it?

It suggest that the shower and the microwave have a common high-impedance connection, somewhere. This is bad for many reasons, so your plan to engage an electrician is a good one.
