So the pull cord for the electric shower pulls and the on/off indicator switches to "on", but the little red light next to it does not come on and so the shower will not switch on. The fuses for the main house are all still on, no tripping out there - is it a fault in the ull cord box, or do I need a new one. And is this ok for an amateur to tackle - I can change a cord pull for a light (but I guess most can do that), but not an expert by any stretch. Many thanks. Barno

"Or"?? Surely you mean "and"??

Yes, but you'll need a multimeter to confirm that the switch is faulty, and to confirm that you have isolated the circuit to make it safe to work on.
