is it ok to use the original 40 amp mcb after upgrading my shower to a 10.5 kw, supply cable is 10mm.

It may well be ok but you may get nuisance tripping because 10.5kw will draw more than 40 amps. I would guess that the manufacturers installation instructions tell you to use a higher rated one than that. It's not difficult to upgrade if you can find a higher rated one suitable for your consumer unit.
