Hi I’ve got a 9.5 electric shower I’m not using anymore can I run that cable which comes through a pull cord to a digital valve mixer keeping the pull cord the valve mixer water will be from the combi. If ok can I put a 3amp fuse box to the end of the shower cable and the cable from the valve into that. Many thanks

I am not an electrician, but I can see why you couldn't.

Presumably, the existing cable is 10mm.

You have the option to spur it from the lighting circuit or from the electric shower.

Up to you, but if it was me doing it, I would spur it from the lighting circuit and terminate the shower cable for future use.

Your digital mixer is only >3amp. The lighting ring is (normally) 6amps.

@Jurassicspark 's suggestion make sense given that the 10mm cable could be used for something far more substantial further down the line.

If using the shower circuit, you could keep the pull switch, and use that as a way to isolate the mixer when not in use? (If that is a benefit)
