I'm planning a new kitchen which will mean a complete rewire and retiling.
I will be using 150mm square tiles and wonder what is the best position for all the sockets and switches that there are in a kitchen.
I though of having them with the centre on a grout line 300mm up from the work surface.
Is this the best idea?

What's the height of the kitchen units; most are set at 450mm, and assuming the worktops level, then allowing 2mm for the grout line under the tiles, and 3mm for the 1st grout line, then the top of your second tile will sit at about 305mm, and if you fit the sockets at this line, and in the centre of the tiles, then they'd get cut half up, and half down, but work out the position of the tiles, so that they sit on the centre of the vertical grout lines as well, otherwise you'll find yourself trying to cut small slivers around the edges of the tiles.

Generally set at 1200mm from floor so 300mm above worktop, minimum recommended is 150mm. Avoid too high to avoid short people having to reach for them.
