did not know exact subject line for this anyway here goes
recently had a new combi boiler installed with a timer switch which is all wired up and working fine
However i noticed that the installer has run the electric cable from the boiler and this is simply plugged into a wall socket with a normal plug.
Is this normal or should there be a proper isolater switch fitted. basically need to know what the rules are with this and safe etc.
any advise greatly appreciated
thanks

It is perfectly ok to have the boiler on a plug , the only thing is it should be plugged into a socket without a switch .
Reason being most socket switches only turn the live off , Where as if you remove the plug you know it is completly disconnected
