Hi all. Noob here so please be gentle.
I'm installing a new electric towel rail in our bathroom and am looking for confirmation on the connections. I've run the cable from the towel rail into a blanking plate and through to the hall and will be connecting it to a timer switch (one of these...http://www.geyser.co.uk/element-programmable-onoff-timer-p-991.html). This will be connected to an FCU which in turn is spurred from a socket.

The question is regarding RCD protection. Our consumer unit is an RCCB but i'm not sure if this is the same as protecting the towel rail circuit with a dedicated RCD.

Any help is appreciated
Thanks

Thanks for the reply Taylortwocities. The circuit is spurred from the upstairs 13amp socket circuit which is RCD protected so does this count?
Yes, I will be notifying the LABC asap.

Thanks for the advice

Yes that is fine, but I'm concerned, you say

Please be aware that you must
be notifying the LABC asap
before you start work. They will want to inspect the works at various stages and will not be amused at seeing it once the work has been done.
