ELECTRICAL IMMERSION HEATER SWITCH WIRING

Hello
I have just moved into a flat and the switch for the immersion heater light is on when the heater is off. Is this correct or should the light be off until I switch on?

Does it stay on all the time? when off and on?

Sounds to me like the live feed has been put to the Load side of the switch, in stead of the Feed side.....

Could just be a faulty switch, and the thing isnt turning off at all.... in that case big electric bill time....

Yes the light stays on all the time. I have now swopped over the live ffed wires and are testing to see if the heater is off and then will test if heater comes on
