Hi.if i replace my mira electric shower which is 9.8 kw.cable looks 10 mm and fuse in consumer unit is 40 amps.
Is there any other way of finding out the what size cable is this.i may have to extend the cable a bit if i get new shower unit because old one is not available any more. Whats a best way to extend this cable if it is 10mm.if Connector then what size or type.
On 10mm cable whats max power shower in kw terms can be ok and what rating mcb needs to be.thanks.

How many strands has the earth wire in the cable feeding the shower?

Current carrying capacity depends on the design current, installation conditions and cable length.
