Electrical trip caused by oven (Ed.)

Hello. In a nutshell. My con oven tripped the fuse box. I replaced thermostat, still oven not working(no light on) now the grill trips the fuse box. Do I need to call an engineer?

Could you clarify for a simpleton. Fuses dont trip, they blow. What exactly is it that is tripping?

Also, what makes you think it is the thermostat that is/was faulty?

Well the mains box tripped the RCD switch, once the con oven was on. Having replaced the themo the grill now trips the RCD.
