Hi, My old shower is an ex shower. I am looking to put in the same model shower but a larger kw. I think ( and please forgive my ignorance ) that the width of the wires do matter when fitting a shower. Now for the questions;
A: how do you measure the width ( if it matters )
B: what will happen if I connect the present wiring up to the more powerful shower
C: If I need to change the wiring can I just go with the same feed

Thanks for any help.

What rating is the existing shower?
What size is the existing protective device?
Is there a 30mA RCD fitted to the current shower?
What rating is the existing isolating switch for the shower?
Can you measure the width of the existing cable for us?
How does the cable run in the building?

If any of the above do not make sense then I would think you need to think about seeking the help of a competant electrican.If you can answer all of the above and maybe post a picture or two then we may be able to help :D
