Yes 6.0mm cable will carry 47A, providing no other factors such as routed withing insulation and conduit/trunking. But you require a 40A MCB rather than the 50A listed on my link, should not be a problem getting one.

I am unclear.
Steve the 40amp breaker labeled cooker. When turned off do you loose power to a cooker as well as shower?

Yes when I turn the cooker breaker off I loose power to the cooker and shower.( I initially thought it was just the cooker on this circuit) thanks
It should not be ignored that 6mm² might only be able to carry 23.5A with the most unfavourable installation method.
