Hi guys! This is a long standing issue we've just not gotten around to having repaired but we need to let our house out now so need it fixing.

I have an Electrolux EKC6044K Electric Double Cooker.

The upper convection oven doesn't work as when you switch ot on, it blows the fuse and you see a bright flash inside the hob region. I have been told by visiting engineers that it is either the thermostat switch behind the selector dial of which I think there are around 8 of these on this model, or it is the upper element.

You can see my wonderful video of this fault in action on Youtube here but if you would be so kind as to tell me what your diagnosis would be, so I can make sure, when I get a engineer that they aren't fleecing me, I would be grateful. :)

It's most prob the switch pack at fault. That's found behind the dial at the back. When u switch it over it trips. It backs onto the themostat

Thanks for that. Have booked a repair guy for tomorrow now so will report back with what it was and parts in due course. But if anyone else has any comments, do share! :)

Hmmm fair enough, although in this case turning the dial to upper oven trips the rcd every time. Thanks though.

Im backing assuhurs the neons on this model are indeed prone to water ingress and the neon to the right is the one to suspect.
