Electrolux Gas Oven - Knobs hot/melting

Hi - I have an Electrolux EOG 6330 Gas Oven. It has two basic control knobs on the front - one for the grill and another for the oven. When the grill is on, both knobs get hotter and hotter so that after a few minutes the knobs themselves (plastic) start to melt!

I'm going to contact customer service on Monday morning, but does anyone know what is going on?
