I am looking at changing the locks on a church. The main entrance is an outer and inner set of outward opening double doors.
The building is used by a lot of different community groups and I'd like to fit an electronic lock that if possible meets the following criteria. It could be a fob or swipe card system.
1. One or more of the card, or fob, readers must be weatherproof as it will be outside.
2. It must be possible to disable a card or fob if one gets lots.
3. It would be really good if each card, or fob, could be programmed to only allow entry at certain times or days, some groups leaders only need to get in on one day a week other people need to get in at any time
4. A system that could be extended to control entry to 5 or 6 internal doors would be great.
5. There is a pc in the church office that could be used to control the system
Any ideas where to get such a system?

Have a look at http://www.stanleysecurityproducts.co.uk/products--services/pac-access-control.html
ScotShield Fire and Security are Stanley installers and used by a lot of local authorities.
Another etsablish manufacturer is Paxton
http://www.paxton.co.uk/

Either of those sites will have lists of approved installers.

At some point your access control system will probably have to interface with the fire alarm system to allow emergency egress (and access for firefighters if a fire is in a secured area).

You can usually also link access control systems to the intruder alarm, so zones in the building are turned off/on by the same fobs which open the doors.

Surely fire exits only keep people out not in, don't fireman still carry axes.
