hi all

I want to wire 4 x 2d fittings with emergency built in them with 4 x pir sensors so they all come on together when any of the pir,s r detected, and key switch of course

many thanks

any diagrams or advice would be great

It depends on the application and environment. Is this for your own use, or for a customer?


You should not do the job if its for a customer and you don't know the difference, or understand the requirements of BS5266.

Well a non maintained 2d, if the thing exists, would not work with a pir.

A sustained 2d again is unlikely to exist or there may be some obscure 2d fitting made with a smaller possibly led lamp for the emergency

Only leaves you with a Maintained fitting that can be used in conjuction with a pir.

As TTC says emergency lighting needs designing and installing to the relevant BS standard
 
HINT: You would need 4 cores+earth between the fittings if you want a single key switch (two T+E), or a three core+E if you put a key switch adjacent to each fitting.

IMO, you would be better using standard 2D fittings and retrofitting an LED lamp kit with integral EM - Kosnic do a good one with EM add on.

You may still need non-maintained fittings at final exits (possibly outside too), at change of floor level, near fire fighting kit etc.
