Emergency lights

If you have a non maintained emergency light system what current would they use when they are not in use,by this i mean when the battery is charging off the mains and your supply is in normal operation.Would you have to take them into consideration as a proper load or is it it neligible

I hope ye understand what im trying to say
 
generally not much.. no real load, but you'd have to check the exact figures with the manufacturer..
 
I think they are something like 30mA for an 8w non maintained fitting. Best to check with the maker of the ones you have.
 
If the batteries are well discharged, for example if the power has been off for a few hours and the batteries are in use, when you reapply the power, it will take a greater current until the batteries are charged then it will be very low.
