Emergency Lights

I have a multimeter but not too sure how to use it and i don't want to put the leads straight across live & neutral without knowing that i might blow something up. icon_confused.gif

Open the fitting up and put tester across Live and Earth, and Live and Neutral.
Make sure its on the right setting, it probably says AC.
Your looking for 240ish volts.

If you have 0v then you have another problem, away from the light fitting.

To the OP. Do you know if there is a test switch for these lights? It may be in the off position.
