Not 100% on this.
Isolation (Emergency stop) of motorised garage doors. necessary?
Do I need an IP rated emergency stop fixed to the external if the door can be operated via remote from outside etc....

Any recommendations? Cheers

The door should have an emergency pressure(loading) sensor built into the control unit, you should not need an external one, or are you meaning for some other reason?

Yeah they do have the pressure sensor but just wondering if an ES is necessary as well.

Depends of the type of door and the application.

Domestic roller doors do not require them apparently as they a re not provided in the kit.

A roller door for an industrial unit needed the descend button to the held until the door reached its end stop.

Depending on the mechanics of the door removal of power by the emergency switch may allow the door to free fall if partly descended when the e-stop is operated.

low level IR beams are a must if you have kids or dogs who might run under the door while closing it..

Thanks for the advice, I will check it further, have only looked at it once, Im over there today so will take a look
