Hi. I have a large wall which needs repair in the plaster. I was going to put a coat of watered down pva to stabilise the old bits of decorating that would more damage if removed. Is there any reason I shouldn't paint over it?

yes

you should never put PVA glue on any surface which you hope one day to paint.

Just needs a ****y coat (watered down contract emulsion paint)
