Hi all,
I'm getting it in the neck about a two way door we have from our kitchen to the dining area.
It squeaks like mad when opened and at quiet dining times it starts to get get on the nerves of customers and staff so it needs to be sorted but I've run out of ideas for it. I've tried winding them off and greasing them before winding them up again, but they just seem to be under too much strain.
When I put my ear to the door it sounds like it has a ring to it so I assume it is the sprung hinges on the door. Not long ago one of the springs went in one of the hinges so I bought replacement hinges and fitted both of them but the new ones are now squeaking too. They were quiet for about a week after replacing. The top hinge has also allowed the door to foul the frame on the other side a few times too, so I'm kind of concluding that the door is obviously too heavy for the hinges. (It is a pretty heavy door to be fair)
These are similar to the hinges we have on the door at the moment although I'm not sure where the GM bought them from.

Can anyone recommend anything better that I could use? Either heavier duty or a different type of two-way hinge? I'm not at work and I can't recall if we have space for a door closer or not, so they may have to be self closing too.
Thanks guys
K
