The best oatcakes we ever had were from a shop in Burbage on the edge of Buxton. Used to pick them up when we went to visit my mother.Oh, there's a thought. Ever had an oatcake down Stoke way?

You used to be able to get them from the likes of (larger) Sainsbury's and Tesco's, but I have not seen them for a while.

Just looked them up on JS website. Yes, they are still available. £1.15 for 6.
They are really tasty grilled with cheese or you can use it like a toast replacement in a fry-up.
They are dinner plate sized, so I toast one and put in on the plate, then pile on whatever you want, sausage, bacon tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, beans, eggs, hash browns....
