The wifes cousin made a similar thing I think using pears. He soaked them in brandy for weeks. Tight git wouldn't let me try it though :cry:

The Czechs do a different version of Slivovice called Hruskovice - it's made with Williams pears rather than plums. Much sweeter than the original and slips down much easier. Poss too easily!

Your wife's cousin fortifying it with brandy adds an interesting dimension. o_Oo_O

 
I got invited into the bar in the House of Commons last night. It went on a bit until 1.30am. The bar manager shouted “come on everybody drink up. Haven’t you no second homes to go to”

Was in Ireland last week. I asked an Irish chap what’s the quickest way to get to cork?
He said are you going by car or on foot? I said by car.
He replied by just saying. That’s the quickest way.
Makes a change from "If I was going there I wouldn't start from here"
