Hi,

I realise there are quite a few posts regarding Potterton EP2000s but here's another.

I have just moved into a new house which has a combi boiler installed controlled by a Hive thermostat. There is also a Potterton EP2000 which is connected to a separate thermostat.

Can anyone provide any insight into removing the EP2000?

doubt if the EP2000 will still be connected to anything if you also have a hive

Is the other thermostat set to maximum? Have you tried it to confirm? You’ll need some test equipment if the EP2000 is still connected.

It is set to just above 20 and Central Heating & Hot Water all work perfectly with the EP on.

Someone with a little more knowledge than me suggested it may still be connected to a pump in the system somewhere. My first thoughts were that with the Hive thermostat connected and CH & HW both working normally the EP is redundant and could be removed but that's made me think it might be still connected to something, pump, that complicates things

The hot water is instant when you open a tap, a thermostat will control the heating, unless of course you don’t have a combi?
