Does anyone know how to disable the ink level detection, using Windows XP?

I am getting lines across my print (when using black). I have tried the clean print head utilities a number of times, changed the black cartridge a few times, but makes no difference. Can I clean the heads myself manually?

As for your second question try googling for a service manual as they usually have steps detailing how to remove the print head completely in order to clean it manually.
