I have just purchased the printer above and gone through the set up to get it work wirelessly. However I cant get find my wireless router. When I checked the IP address on the printer it is different from the one on my pc. Should this be the case or not? I would be grateful of any help

The two IP Addresses should be unique but within the same range. What IP Address and subnet mask does the PC and printer have ?

If the printer has an IP Address where has this come from ? did you enter it manually as part of the setup or has your wireless router provided it automatically ?

Your printer should have its own factory default IP. You need to configure it by plugging it into your pc (usually 'after' installing the software) and altering its settings from there.
Set it to DHCP and it should pick up an IP from your router.
Make sure that:
a) your router IS actually being used as a DHCP server
b) DHCP lease pool is large enough on your router to accommodate the printer
c) your printer it set to DHCP.
