Hi, can essex no stop flange be used on dome of hot cylinder rather than side to maximise available hot water, I want to retain original top outlet, tanks are so thin now probably end up twisting it if i tried removal. essex is to supply pumped house extension with shower. Thanks Houston.

I wouldn't recommend trying to fit it to the dome, it's not really what it's designed for. No reason why you can't retain the top outlet, the pump is connected to the flange outlet but everything that isn't being pumped stays on the original outlet.

Alternatively look at Surrey/York/Warix/Turner flanges

Just replace the top outlet with a surrey flange, you may need to do a bit of pipework depending on how much room you have above the cylinder but thats more preferable than trying to fit an essex flange
