Estimating Construction Costs for Residential Tower Blocks

Hi there

Am I right in thinking that for a residential tower block the costs are about 1/3 of the sale price of the flats?

And what percentage is architecture / project management ?

I looking at some projects the council is doing and they seem to be spending a lot of money on building them.

Impossible to have such a simple equation as cost of land and market value of the flats, although related to each other, have little relation to the construction costs. Construction cost will vary due to location and ground type with a green field site with adjacent services usually being cheapest.

Councils always spend a lot of money on projects - it makes them feel important and it's not their own money they're spending. However they should be building to a higher than minimal spec in terms of vandal resistant finishes etc.
