I see gasbanni is on a deluded dreaming trip.
What medication is he on, I'll make a note to avoid it.

Hopefully the Swiss will look at us and realise it's not a good idea to put up barriers between yourselves and your biggest trading partners. Ask our fishing industry how well it's working out for them and whether they got what the politicians promised them. :ROFLMAO: Ask small exporters if they're thriving.

Then come back in a few years and see how it's working out for British farmers.

from the Yorkshire post:

The sale of a Hull-registered trawler, with the loss of 25 local jobs, to Greenland, has been described as “a foretaste of what might happen to other distant-waters vessels” if the government does not change course.

The whole world's fishing industry is about knackered.

It's a disaster for communities that rely on fishing and fish processing. It's now difficult or impossible for our fishermen to sell shellfish to The EU. Our distance trawlers can't catch cod, but countries like Norway who have a huge fishing industry will still be catching cod and now selling it to us. Expect fish and chips to get even more expensive.

The government don't care if our fishing industry goes to the wall, because it's tiny in the scheme of things.

There has also been some closures of companies making motor industry bits and pieces.

The Swiss thing is a storm in a teacup that's bound to sort itself out. The Swiss has always had a thing about immigrants working there. A friend of mine did well before the EU. He could but only for so long. While there he managed to get a tax free Lotus Elan and bring it back. I know several people who have worked their way around the world in a similar way doing contract work.

There main argument is freedom of movement and social security. Nothing new about that and was probably sorted in their current agreements with the EU. It seems that Cameron achieved something along the same lines.

The fuss really is that the agreements they worked out have time limits and it's time to go through them again,

What reaction has there been?
The right-wing Swiss People's Party (SVP) welcomed the breakdown of talks as "a victory for Swiss self-determination", while trade unions were also pleased as they had been concerned about the impact on wage protection and public services.

But most political parties in Switzerland were critical: Socialist party president Roger Nordmann described it as "Black Wednesday".

:ROFLMAO:
Sounds familiar but slightly different.
