EU calling for respect.

Good. Job done as far as I’m concerned. If they want to buy from us, fine. If they want to sell to us, also fine. Don’t link sales of goods to automatic freedom of movement. We don't do it with others so why the insistence we do it with them? Perhaps if we were a pìss poor country and nobody wanted to move here and there were many better ones, then I might have a different view. Let’s face it, how many Spanish, French or Italians come here compared to Latvians, Lithuanians, Romanians etc? You don’t hear of Romanian pickpocketing gangs setting up shop in Slovenia, do you?
You totally missed the point about the immigration issues didn't you.

Brexit didn't solve it, as some believed it would.

Immigration for those that are needed, apply and accepted was never a problem. Unchecked immigration was. That’s stopped now.

The major criminal gangs in the UK were not born here, especially the Romanian pickpocketing gangs says Mottie.
Migrants were taking our jobs and undercutting wages because they came from poor countries, live ten to a squat, hotbedding and were treated like shìt by unscrupulous employers says mottie.
Illegal immigrants who cannot sign on legally to a GP practice are turning up in A&E causing big waiting times says mottie.
Economic migrants who come over on boats and claim asylum are mainly young, fit, single men says Mottie.

What if we could avoid freedom of movement but we accepted everything else involved with the single market and the customs union. Obviously, it's a hypothetical at the moment.
Still a no go from me.
The, UK should make trade deals with other countries that primarily benefit the, UK.
Why should we be hobbled by what Greece wants, or Spain, or Germany etc, etc when agreeing a deal with, Australia?

That is the EU

For 2 main reasons:

1) Because EU 28 had gdp of around $18trillion
U.K. has gdp of around $3trillion

So EU has far more leverage, it’s a far larger market.

2) because the benefits of frictionless trade with our largest trade partner on our doorstep far out weighs any benefits of UK only trade deals

3) 75% of our trade is with EU, China, USA, Japan, India, Canada

We have a trade deal (albeit weak) with EU, we have zero chance of any trade deal with USA or China……and as an EU member we already had trade deals with Japan, Canada, Mexico etc

So the only trade deals we can do is with small countries thousands of miles away

Are you implying that it's a good idea to be an, EU member so that we can bully smaller independent nations?
That is what you are saying, right!
