Hi all,
I live in an old house (1796) and attached to it is an old store/cupboard. It is effectively another brick outhouse up against the house. 3.5ft wide, 16ft deep.
The problem is that it is hugely humid/damp in there. The moisture is incredible. I believe it has no damp course. I left some kayak paddles out there recently and mould grew all over them. You can put things in there dry and they'll come out wet... anything in there stays wet. It's crazy. The walls can be wet. The solid door rotted out in a little over 12 years and it's just been replaced.
I have put vents on the door but this doesn't seem to change things. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? Can I get something to seal the brickwork with inside to prevent moisture?
