excessive run on?

I have just had new 'swan neck' type taps (Norrie from Magnet) fitted as part of a new kitchen. I didn't know and wasn't warned that this style of taps suffers from run on, ie the water continues to pour out after the valve is closed. The problem is that it continues to run on for between 12 and 18 seconds which I consider excessive. I've done a timed study and taken movies but Magnet regard this as 'slight' and to be expected. I'd appreciate hearing about other peoples experiences as I can't work out whether this is 'normal' or if there is a fault with the tap. Thanks

I would regard 12 to 18 seconds as abnormal and excessive, not to mention intensely annoying.

However, you might struggle to get resolution with the manufacturer, but if you act swiftly you could return the taps to the supplier and argue that they aren't fit for purpose - you might be covered by some kind of 'satisfaction guarantee' that many retailers provide these days.

update: I received a new end piece that screws on the spout from the tap importers, it included what appears to be a fine mesh gause. It has stopped the run on for the last few days. Only time will tell.
