Hi,
Just bought an Expansion vessel from screwfix (12l REFLEX).
To be fitted to the combi boiler externally, replacing the internal failed EV.
The instructions say the unit is filled with nitrogen gas,and if the pressure is too low topup using a nitrogen cylinder.
If the EV requires topping up in the future,is it normal procedure to use a car foot pump? as many posts suggest.
Gary.

Its best with nitrogen but everyone has to use air which is 80% nitrogen.

However you will probably need to REDUCE the pressure to 0.9 Bar before you fit it.

Thats based on operating the heating at 1.9 Bar cold.
