Reflex Expansion Vessel

I am about to install a 12ltr reflex external expansion vessel to my heating system, as the one in the boiler, (24cdi), has failed and it looks a nightmare to change, so i am going for the easy option, but space is a bit tight, can these vessels be mounted horizontally or vertically, any help would be appreciated
