Hi, and Happy New Year to all!

I have a Ferroli Optimax HE PLUS 38C combi boiler which loses pressure. I checked the schrader valve on the expansion vessel and water spurts out.

As far as I understand I can fit a tee piece to the 22mm CH return pipe, connect an external pressure vessel via the tee piece and this should keep the water at the correct pressure.

I have 8 radiators, an average size house with an extension that doubles the length so I think a 12 ltr vessel like this one should do the trick http://www.screwfix.com/p/expansion-vessel-12ltr/46517.

Is this correct thinking and is the screwfix vessel the best for the job?

Many thanks.

Tony

The vessel you propose should be fine!! and yes it goes on the 22mm CH return

Don't forget to set the air charge to around 0.8 bar before fitting
