As part of my extension build I’ve removed some plaster and cleaned the bricks on about a 2mx2.3m section of existing (old) house wall. It looks lovely, but I’ve been trying to avoid thinking about the fact that the BCO may pick it up on final inspection and make me insulate it. The old plaster was a crumbling thin layer of sand and cement. The wall is cavity, loose fill insulated. Chances of me getting away with it, or am I doomed? I’ve over specced the insulation of pretty much everything else (oversite, vaulted roof etc), incase that helps, which it probably doesn’t.
