Hi Guys,

I need to extend the wires for a 12v showe light so I can put the transformer somewhere accessible.

Length is approx 1.5m

Is 1mm lighting cable OK for this ? I just won't use the earth

Cheers

You don't give size of lamp so no way to answer.
However a 12V 50W lamp is 4.4A so 1mm cable at 44mV/A/m for 1.5m will give a volt drop of 0.275V which I would consider as being OK. And cable ratted at approx 8A to 13A according to how installed again OK. So for a 50W lamp all you need to do is pay council their £100+ fee (Assuming England or Wales) for Part P, move the lamp, and allow them to inspect.
