I'm looking to extend the flex on a Sony KDL40EX503 TV. I thought I'd cut the flex and use a flex connector with extra cord and a new plug. I'm fairly comfortable with this but wanted to check the ratings before I go ahead. The TV is double insulated and the current cord is 2 x 0.75mm fitted to a plug with a 10A fuse (Bit surprised by this fuse rating?).

Would the following be suitable (with a standard UK plug fitted - should I stick with a 10A fuse)?

Hi, 0.75mm flex is rated at 6a however, the 10a fuse in the plug will be to allow for inrush or "switch on current" of the TV. I would use 0.75mm flex and the 6a inline connector would that will be fine.

Kind regards,

DS
