Extending pitched balcony by moving doors back into room

Hi - we want to create more user-friendly space on the balcony at the top of our house by moving the doors back into the room by about 2ft - (see before and proposed after pic attached) - can this be done, and if so, what sort of cost would we be looking at? Would look to replace the doors, deck out balcony, extend railings. Thanks!
