I have a Pre Paid Meter and it’s owned by by British Gas.

This meter has four wire coming from it; Blue & Brown - which goes to the supply, and Red & Black - which goes to the Consumer Unit.

I’m having a new consumer unit fitted by an electrician and I’m pretty sure that the Red & Black wires are too short!

Here’s my question...... can an electrician take replace theses wires or do I need to ring British Gas to extend them first??

The electrican could put an isolator in to act as a joint.

or use “Henleys” junction (like what that blue wire goes into)
