Im about to replace a wooden framed glass wall in my living room with a standard stud wall. I would like to move my light swith round the corner from where it is and on to the new stud wall. How do I got about extending the wiring by approx. 1 metre?

If the joint can be hidden in a stud wall or ceiling void, use a Hager 20A maintenance free junction box.

Observe safe zones for concealed cables.

From your description it doesn't sound like you would be allowed to move the switch like that.

It is most likely that the cable runs from the light to the switch.
Your best option is to either run a new cable from the light to the new switch, or extend the existing cable.
The easiest method is to access the ceiling void from the room above. Is that possible?
