hi i am building a side extention. do i need reinforcing cage before i pour concrete thanks

Is this extension covered by Building Reg's/Planning Permission?
If so what does your BCO/Architect expect?

Are you asking about the footings or the slab?

what has B.C said is it not on the plans for the groundworks tend too use rebar not much cage work ask building regs

If your foundation plans show a reinforced cage, then yes you need that before concreting..

If this side extension is at the zoo, then yes you need a cage

If this in on a house, then no, just build it out of blocks and brick like normal
