Why do they say do no exterior gloss painting on a cold damp or if its raining. Apart from it taking longer to dry and getting wet what will be the result of the paint finishing.
The moisture in the air will take the shine off the gloss and slow its drying down. You can use Tererbine driers in the paint to speed the drying time up. If its too cold it will result in a poor finish or if the dew comes down in the late afternoon this will also affect it.
If you're new to applying gloss, i'd take LJW61's advice if you can and wait until the weather picks up. Applying in cold temperatures can be tricky to get a good finish and rain will potentially leave pock marks.
